The Major Hospital Foundation, was formed in 1961 with the purpose of supporting Major Hospital and our patients.

The Foundation's mission is:
  • To promote the improvement of the facilities and services of Major Hospital.
  • To provide financial assistance for the improvement of the health, safety and general welfare of Major Hospital patients.
  • To aid and promote education and scientific research in the advancement of knowledge relating to the discovery, prevention and treatment of disease.
  • To aid and promote the care and treatment of the sick, aged and helpless patients at Major Hospital.

The Major Hospital Foundation is a 501c3 (non-profit) organization as designated by the Internal Revenue service.

Responsibilities
Board Members are responsible for promoting the advancement and furthering the goals of Major Hospital. They will assist in the development and the application of financial resources for the benefit of the activities of the system. Board members should understand the organization well enough to serve as an effective public advocate and articulate the case for support. The director is expected to personally contribute time, talent, and financial resources to achieve the Foundation's mission and goals. Board members are expected to seek and direct support to the Major Hospital Foundation.
